Pet Tales Rescue is a network of fosters and volunteers that work to find the perfect homes for animals in need.

Our cats and dogs are housed in foster homes and treated like family. This gives us the advantage of getting to know each one as an individual; once we have an understanding of their specific personality and needs, we can find them the perfect home!

Find Your New Best Friend

Our mission is to match pets with their perfect forever family.

Prim
Prim Prim Prim Prim

Meet Prim! Prim is the sweetest and most beautiful little torbie kitten. She is sweet, social, and chatty. She absolutely adores attention. She is quick to come out of her shell. She has beautiful coloring all over her coat. She’s playful with people and her animal friends. She is a singleton found roaming around in Ionia county. She’d make an amazing companion and addition to any house. She is spayed, age appropriate vaccinated, microchipped, and hoping to have a forever family in time for her first Christmas. Stitch
Stitch Stitch Stitch Stitch Stitch

I’m Stitch, a short hair black male. I live up to my name as the wild child of my litter. I Love To Play. I’m high energy and really love to run, jump, chase, and best of all, wrestle with my siblings and friends. I also like to help clean the litterbox. Foster mom says I’m her best helper! I am good with kids, chaos, busy situations, and probably need a kitten buddy to help burn off my energy. But I do like to snuggle too, mom says she just had to run me around a lot first! I’d probably do great with a dog too just so long as they are willing to play! Stitch is neutered, age appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for Christmas with her forever family. Lilo
Lilo Lilo Lilo Lilo Lilo

Hi I’m Lilo! A Shorthair Black female with a dusting of white along my feet. I am a super cuddlebug. If my foster mom sits down it won’t be long before I settle into her lap, on her shoulder, or under her chin. I love to snuggle, but I’m also high energy so need lots of good playtime. I’ve turned into a blanket shark instead of night time zoomies. Mom says I burrow under the blankets and then try to chomp her hands and toes, or even better, my brother Stitch. But that’s just my kitten energy, once I get tired I’m all snuggles again. My favorite is to sleep under moms chin. I am good with all people, kids or big kids, would really love to have a kitten friend to play with, and would adjust to a puppy friend too, I just haven’t met one yet. Lilo is spayed, age appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for Christmas with her forever family. Apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Nani
Nani Nani Nani

I’m Nani, the “big sister” of my litter. I’m a brown and cream tabby with the thickest fur you’ve ever seen on a short hair kitten. Foster mom says it’s like cuddling a cloud. But with sharp feets. I am the most independent of my litter, I’d be a good choice for a home who can’t adopt a pair, as I am very good at playing by myself and don’t get quite as wild as my siblings Lilo and Stitch. I love to cuddle when I’m tired, but also love to play both with my family and by myself. I’m good with kids and other cats, and am confident enough that foster mom thinks I would adapt to puppy siblings easily too. I’d really like a home and a bunch of puffball toys to chase for Christmas…. Nani is spayed, age appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for Christmas with her forever family. This tiny house-panther is a survivor! This itty bitty guy was found all alone in the Luther swamp in northern Michigan. We've dubbed him Luther, and estimate that he way born in late May. He is independent, vocal, full of energy and very spirited! He shows no real fear of dogs or the adult cats in his foster home, but doesn't really enjoy spending time with other kitties closer to his age. He has the most adorable little gallop and will stalk anything he thinks he can tackle. As with all Pet Tales Rescue pets, Luther is neutered, microchipped, combo-tested, vaccinated and ready for his forever home. His adoption fee is $140. View full description »

Pet overpopulation leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths each year.

We are involved in our communities to not only raise awareness but to be a resource and to help educate in a positive way.

The Pet Tales Journey

1. Rescue

When we’re contacted about an animal in need, we work quickly to determine the best course of action. If that course means coming into our rescue, we mobilize right away to secure the animal and place it safely within a foster home.

4. Sterilization

Spaying and neutering is something we feel very strongly about here at Pet Tales. EVERY animal we take in is fixed (sterilized) prior to finding their new home. We work hard to educate our community about the benefits of neutering their pet, and we believe this type of education is key to reducing pet overpopulation and overall shelter numbers.

2. Foster

Once we’ve successfully placed the pet within a foster home, the road to adoption begins! Their new foster will make sure they’re comfortable, clean, and given ample decompression time. From there, the foster will evaluate their personality and assess their specific needs.

5. Find a Home

The best part of all! Once our foster pets are ready mentally and medically, we begin the process of finding them the perfect forever-home. This begins with potential adopters filling out our online application. Once we have screened the applicant and determined whether their lifestyle seems like a good fit for the desired animal, we set up a meet and greet. If the meetup is successful and both parties are in agreement about adopting the pet, we finalize the adoption!

3. Screening & Treatment

We waste no time having new foster animals seen by a veterinarian! They are thoroughly checked over, tested for various ailments (such as parasites or heartworm), and vaccinated appropriately.

6. Follow Up Support

When you adopt a pet from us, you are NEVER alone! Our ultimate goal is to unite our fosters with their perfect family, and for them to spend a lifetime together. To ensure this goal is met, we will provide continuous support and advice whenever needed, for the life of your pet.

Happy Tales

“This is my little girl Vera. I adopted her from Pet Tales in April 2019. She had the same rough start that Luna had. Pet Tales took great care of her. She had many teeth removed and also one eye. She is spoiled rotten and I love her so much.”

– Pat Clark-Saur

“This is Rozie. We rescued her 5 years ago from Pet Tales. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. At 1 year old she became part of a pet therapy group called Pet A Pet. We primarily go to Beaumont Hospital – Taylor, MI. She loves visiting the patients. We have been so blessed to have this sweet girl as part of our family. Thank you to Pet Tales for all of the hard work you put into rescuing these animals.”

– Jenny King Baugh

“Our Sweet Peanut….adopted this past summer (2020). An amazingly sweet girl, who loves any and all attention. She has completed our little family more than we could have ever hoped! Thank you so much, Pet Tales for our sweet girl”

– Kevin & Becky Thompson

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010…

By people who had spent several years volunteering with other rescues. They decided to take their many years of knowledge and experience out on their own to help find homes for abused and abandoned pets. We are committed to finding loving, permanent homes that will provide the love, companionship, and quality care that every animal deserves.
