Pet Tales Rescue is a network of fosters and volunteers that work to find the perfect homes for animals in need.

Our cats and dogs are housed in foster homes and treated like family. This gives us the advantage of getting to know each one as an individual; once we have an understanding of their specific personality and needs, we can find them the perfect home!

Find Your New Best Friend

Our mission is to match pets with their perfect forever family.

Meet Dobbie! Dobbie is a brown Dachshund mix, around two years old and weighs 25 lbs. She came to her foster home along with her six puppies. She did an amazing job raising them and they have all found their forever homes. Now it's her turn! Dobbie is a gentle, sweet and loving girl. She loves to cuddle, and she'll happily spend hours by your side soaking up all the love and attention you can give her. She is a little shy at first and will need a patient adopter who will give her some time to settle into her new home, but once she does, she'll be your loyal friend for life. She is crate and potty trained. She loves to burrow under your blanket while cuddling. She gets along great with other dogs and has not been tested with cats or children. Johnny

Johnny Breed: Mixed Breed Birthday: July 8, 2025 Meet Johnny, a brindle beauty with a white nose, white-tipped paws, and the biggest heart (and paws!) of his litter. Johnny may grow into a medium-to-large boy — but for now, he’s all about playtime, naps, and snuggles. Johnny is currently in a foster home with three cats, and he’s proven to be respectful and gentle. He sometimes tries to play with them, but with a quick redirection, he’ll happily curl up for a nap nearby. He’s great with cats, dogs, and kids, making him a wonderful family companion. This mild-mannered sweetheart is crate trained — he sleeps up to eight hours through the night and also naps quietly when left home alone, with no accidents. He’s learning potty training quickly and rarely has accidents anymore. Johnny loves tug-of-war, chasing toys (until he gets distracted by something more interesting), and snuggling up with his siblings or people. He came to rescue a little underweight, but he’s doing great eating three meals a day and steadily filling out. He doesn’t bark much — just a little alert when someone new comes to the door or after some playful wrestling. Johnny’s easygoing, affectionate, and ready to find his forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. Johnny is neutered, age-appropriately vaccinated, and microchipped. June

June
JuneJuneJuneJuneJuneJune

June Breed: Mixed Breed Birthday: July 8, 2025 Say hello to June — the confident, curious, and speedy sister of the bunch! With her sleek red coat, dark face, white stripe, and sock-like white paws, she’s as beautiful as she is bold. June is the alpha of her siblings — full of energy and personality. She loves to zoom around the fenced yard, chase squeaky toys, and show off her quick reflexes. When she’s done playing, she’s the first to flop over for belly rubs and snuggles. June is also crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night or when her foster family is away, with no accidents. She’s almost fully potty trained and is learning commands quickly — especially when there are treats involved! She currently lives with three cats, and while she’s curious about them (and may bark when she can’t reach them), she isn’t aggressive at all. She just wants to play! June would thrive in a home with active owners, kids, or other playful pets, and especially one with a yard to run or a family who loves long walks. If you’re looking for a lively, loving pup who will make you laugh and keep you on your toes, June is your girl. June is spayed, age-appropriately vaccinated, and microchipped. Pet overpopulation leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths each year.

We are involved in our communities to not only raise awareness but to be a resource and to help educate in a positive way.

The Pet Tales Journey

1. Rescue

When we’re contacted about an animal in need, we work quickly to determine the best course of action. If that course means coming into our rescue, we mobilize right away to secure the animal and place it safely within a foster home.

4. Sterilization

Spaying and neutering is something we feel very strongly about here at Pet Tales. EVERY animal we take in is fixed (sterilized) prior to finding their new home. We work hard to educate our community about the benefits of neutering their pet, and we believe this type of education is key to reducing pet overpopulation and overall shelter numbers.

2. Foster

Once we’ve successfully placed the pet within a foster home, the road to adoption begins! Their new foster will make sure they’re comfortable, clean, and given ample decompression time. From there, the foster will evaluate their personality and assess their specific needs.

5. Find a Home

The best part of all! Once our foster pets are ready mentally and medically, we begin the process of finding them the perfect forever-home. This begins with potential adopters filling out our online application. Once we have screened the applicant and determined whether their lifestyle seems like a good fit for the desired animal, we set up a meet and greet. If the meetup is successful and both parties are in agreement about adopting the pet, we finalize the adoption!

3. Screening & Treatment

We waste no time having new foster animals seen by a veterinarian! They are thoroughly checked over, tested for various ailments (such as parasites or heartworm), and vaccinated appropriately.

6. Follow Up Support

When you adopt a pet from us, you are NEVER alone! Our ultimate goal is to unite our fosters with their perfect family, and for them to spend a lifetime together. To ensure this goal is met, we will provide continuous support and advice whenever needed, for the life of your pet.

Happy Tales

“This is my little girl Vera. I adopted her from Pet Tales in April 2019. She had the same rough start that Luna had. Pet Tales took great care of her. She had many teeth removed and also one eye. She is spoiled rotten and I love her so much.”

– Pat Clark-Saur

“This is Rozie. We rescued her 5 years ago from Pet Tales. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. At 1 year old she became part of a pet therapy group called Pet A Pet. We primarily go to Beaumont Hospital – Taylor, MI. She loves visiting the patients. We have been so blessed to have this sweet girl as part of our family. Thank you to Pet Tales for all of the hard work you put into rescuing these animals.”

– Jenny King Baugh

“Our Sweet Peanut….adopted this past summer (2020). An amazingly sweet girl, who loves any and all attention. She has completed our little family more than we could have ever hoped! Thank you so much, Pet Tales for our sweet girl”

– Kevin & Becky Thompson

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010…

By people who had spent several years volunteering with other rescues. They decided to take their many years of knowledge and experience out on their own to help find homes for abused and abandoned pets. We are committed to finding loving, permanent homes that will provide the love, companionship, and quality care that every animal deserves.
