Pet Tales Rescue is a network of fosters and volunteers that work to find the perfect homes for animals in need.

Our cats and dogs are housed in foster homes and treated like family. This gives us the advantage of getting to know each one as an individual; once we have an understanding of their specific personality and needs, we can find them the perfect home!

Find Your New Best Friend

Our mission is to match pets with their perfect forever family.

Shadow

Shadow
ShadowShadowShadowShadowShadowShadow

Meet your new best friend, Shadow! Shadow is a approximately 4.5 month old (born 5/5/25) Staffordshire Terrier mix who is ready for anything. We're thinking he'll be around 55-65 pounds when full grown. I have fostered literally hundreds of puppies and dogs and he is perhaps the most adaptable guy I’ve ever had. He came from the city and yet here he is living his best life out in the country. Have other furry friends? Perfect, because Shadow loves all dogs and cats! He is currently being fostered in a multi dog and cat household. Every size, shape, color, breed, and age; you name it, we’ve got it, and this guy respects everyone! He is nailing his house training and is already sleeping through the night. Fully crate trained. Although he does love to have a sleeping partner. He is remarkably smart and learns fast. He has mastered sit, come, and stay. Do you have farm animals? Perfect, he has had exposure to those too, and interacts with cows, pigs, and horses with zero issue. Do you like adventures like side by sides or golf cart rides? Well, it just so happens that he does too! As soon as he sees the door to the Gator open he climbs inside and is so happy even if it’s just a short ride. Do you live in a neighborhood vs the country? Well you are in luck because this guy has never met another dog or person he doesn’t like. Do you like relaxing nights on the couch? This is crazy because he does too! In case you haven’t figured it out Shadow is pretty darn special and he’s waiting to meet the special family that deserves him as well. He is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. This Master snuggler, bed buddy, couch potato, and cat cuddler is waiting for you! To meet Shadow, please apply at pettalesrescue.com View full description »

Meet Petey! Petey is a 4-month-old (born around May 5, 2025) black-and-white American Staffordshire Terrier mix who’s expected to grow to about 55–65 pounds. This handsome boy is ready to find his forever family! Petey is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly — a smart little guy who loves to have fun but also knows when it’s time to snuggle. He’s wonderful with kids and other dogs, already showing off how clever he is by playing fetch (he’ll proudly bring the ball back and let you take it from him). He’s doing great with potty training and is learning to feel comfortable in his crate. When it comes to walks, Petey is just starting out. Sometimes he’d rather sit and watch the world go by, but with patience and encouragement, he’ll catch on quickly. With his eager-to-please nature, he’ll thrive with a family who can keep up with his learning and playtime. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and devoted companion, Petey is your guy. He can’t wait to bring endless joy, tail wags, and snuggles to his forever home! Petey is neutered, age-appropriately vaccinated, and microchipped. Meet Ziti & Cocoa – The Purrfect Pair! Ziti and Cocoa are a sweet and spunky bonded duo looking for their forever home together. Ziti (born April 1, 2024) is a beautiful tawny tabby with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She had a rough start in life—diagnosed with FIP when she first arrived—but thanks to a breakthrough treatment, she’s now healthy, thriving, and ready for her next chapter! Ziti is the boss lady of the pair: confident, extremely social, and never one to hide. She’s a lap-lover who soaks up affection, though she prefers not to be picked up. She’s also a little chatterbox and won’t hesitate to let you know when she wants love or playtime. Cocoa (born November 2, 2024) is a gorgeous tortoiseshell who came from a crowded home and didn’t get the socialization she needed as a kitten. At first, she’s the quiet observer when meeting new people—but once she feels safe, her sweetness shines through. She’s made huge progress in foster care, and now LOVES pets, even venturing onto her foster mom’s lap for snuggles. With time, patience, and treats, Cocoa will blossom into a devoted companion. Together, these girls balance each other perfectly—Ziti’s boldness helps Cocoa feel secure, and Cocoa’s gentle nature softens Ziti’s spice. They adore playing with toys, chasing each other around, and curling up together after a good romp. Ziti and Cocoa would do best in a home without other cats or dogs, where they can be the center of attention. Older children would be best. They are both spayed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative. If you’re looking for a pair of playful, affectionate, and deeply bonded girls who will bring both fun and love into your life, Ziti and Cocoa are the duo for you! Raindrop

Raindrop
RaindropRaindropRaindropRaindropRaindropRaindrop

Raindrop is a white kitten with black spots, just like a cow. He’s got a lovely all-black tail. He loves toys and chasing after anything that jingles or rolls. He’ll play with you for as long as you’re willing. He also loves food. If he thinks it’s dinner time, he’ll come running and just run in circles because he’s so excited. Raindrop loves other cats. He lights up when his friends enter the room, head bumping and rubbing. He’d love to have feline siblings. When it comes to people, Raindrop is a little shy. Kinda. He doesn’t hide. He loves to hang out where the action is. If you’ve got food or treats or a toy, he’s all about you. He’ll come running. But he’s shy about touch. Once he settles into pets though, he’s a big purrer. He never hisses or scratches—he’s never mean—he just takes his time to feel safe and secure. He’s come so far in foster care, though. We expect him to continue to blossom under someone’s loving care. He’d be worth it, because he’s such a cutie with the huge silly personality. If yours is a home that is willing to work with Raindrop to get him more comfortable, he is sure to reward you by being a loyal friend to you and the other pets in the house. He is ready to make your heart his forever home. Raindrop was born 5/14/25 and is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. Baby, Male, Large

Pet overpopulation leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths each year.

We are involved in our communities to not only raise awareness but to be a resource and to help educate in a positive way.

The Pet Tales Journey

1. Rescue

When we’re contacted about an animal in need, we work quickly to determine the best course of action. If that course means coming into our rescue, we mobilize right away to secure the animal and place it safely within a foster home.

4. Sterilization

Spaying and neutering is something we feel very strongly about here at Pet Tales. EVERY animal we take in is fixed (sterilized) prior to finding their new home. We work hard to educate our community about the benefits of neutering their pet, and we believe this type of education is key to reducing pet overpopulation and overall shelter numbers.

2. Foster

Once we’ve successfully placed the pet within a foster home, the road to adoption begins! Their new foster will make sure they’re comfortable, clean, and given ample decompression time. From there, the foster will evaluate their personality and assess their specific needs.

5. Find a Home

The best part of all! Once our foster pets are ready mentally and medically, we begin the process of finding them the perfect forever-home. This begins with potential adopters filling out our online application. Once we have screened the applicant and determined whether their lifestyle seems like a good fit for the desired animal, we set up a meet and greet. If the meetup is successful and both parties are in agreement about adopting the pet, we finalize the adoption!

3. Screening & Treatment

We waste no time having new foster animals seen by a veterinarian! They are thoroughly checked over, tested for various ailments (such as parasites or heartworm), and vaccinated appropriately.

6. Follow Up Support

When you adopt a pet from us, you are NEVER alone! Our ultimate goal is to unite our fosters with their perfect family, and for them to spend a lifetime together. To ensure this goal is met, we will provide continuous support and advice whenever needed, for the life of your pet.

Happy Tales

“This is my little girl Vera. I adopted her from Pet Tales in April 2019. She had the same rough start that Luna had. Pet Tales took great care of her. She had many teeth removed and also one eye. She is spoiled rotten and I love her so much.”

– Pat Clark-Saur

“This is Rozie. We rescued her 5 years ago from Pet Tales. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. At 1 year old she became part of a pet therapy group called Pet A Pet. We primarily go to Beaumont Hospital – Taylor, MI. She loves visiting the patients. We have been so blessed to have this sweet girl as part of our family. Thank you to Pet Tales for all of the hard work you put into rescuing these animals.”

– Jenny King Baugh

“Our Sweet Peanut….adopted this past summer (2020). An amazingly sweet girl, who loves any and all attention. She has completed our little family more than we could have ever hoped! Thank you so much, Pet Tales for our sweet girl”

– Kevin & Becky Thompson

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010…

By people who had spent several years volunteering with other rescues. They decided to take their many years of knowledge and experience out on their own to help find homes for abused and abandoned pets. We are committed to finding loving, permanent homes that will provide the love, companionship, and quality care that every animal deserves.
