Pet Tales Rescue is a network of fosters and volunteers that work to find the perfect homes for animals in need.

Our cats and dogs are housed in foster homes and treated like family. This gives us the advantage of getting to know each one as an individual; once we have an understanding of their specific personality and needs, we can find them the perfect home!

Find Your New Best Friend

Our mission is to match pets with their perfect forever family.

Goliath
GoliathGoliathGoliathGoliath

I’m Goliath! Born 03/02/2022 I was a big baby from the start. I’m a super silky short hair black void full of love and energy. I’d love a forever home with another kitten (my best friend is Hawthorn, a week younger than me) or a family with kids who will play with me and keep me busy. I’ve got lots of energy to play hard and love hard. My favorite way to cuddle is to rub my face against yours and snuggle under your chin in bed while purring like a thunder storm. I love all people and purr if I think you’re even looking my way to pet or play, but sometimes my energy overflows and I get a bit wild. That’s where a kitten friend would be ideal, someone to help use up my play energy! I’m neutered, combo tested, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $120. Fermi & Ceres
Fermi & CeresFermi & CeresFermi & CeresFermi & CeresFermi & CeresFermi & Ceres

Meet Fermi and Ceres, two of the cutest little kitties you will ever see! Fermi is a beautiful orange male. He loves affection and will go to any length to get it, which includes climbing furniture and on occasion, his human. Fermi lives with his brother Ceres (a Siamese mix with beautiful blue eyes) in their foster home. Ceres is more shy than Fermi and upon meeting someone will tremble and shake if he is touched and not within eyesight of Fermi. They stay close to one another and do everything together, so they will need to be adopted as a pair. They’re best friends. Ceres really is coming out of his shell and loves spending time with foster mom and dad but will hiss at other cats as well as hide. He also has a habit of randomly giving love bites when being petted- he has never drawn blood and it isn’t painful but definitely a surprise. These two boys are amazing and we are confident that in a loving and patient home, they would be happy to include you in their little family. Approximately 10 months old. Neutered, vaccinated, combo tested & microchipped. Their adoption fee is $150 total. Fill out an application at www.pettalesrescue.com. View full description »

Stella is a perfect angel. She has the cutest little round face and short little legs. Shes adorable and she’s sweet too! Very affectionate cuddler. Approximately 1 year old. Good with dogs. Not a fan of other cats but can coexist. Spayed, combo tested, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $50. Fill out an application at www.pettalesrescue.com. View full description »

Jerry

Jerry is looking for his forever home! Jerry is a 2-year old red tabby neutered male who is microchipped, combo tested and UTD on his vaccinations. Jerry is a very friendly and affectionate kitty. Jerry is fine with both dogs and other cats. He is a very vocal kitty, and has no problem letting you know he would like some attention or that you are late with his treats. Jerry is not fussy about the type of forever home he is looking for, as long as there is lots of cuddles and treats. His adoption fee is $50. Fill out an application at www.pettalesrescue.com. Molly
MollyMollyMollyMollyMolly

MEET MOLLY This sweetheart is ready for her forever home! A bit about Molly: She is 5 months old and weighs about 35lbs currently. We expect her to be around 55lbs fully grown. She is a terrier/shepherd mix. She has the cutest wiry, wavy coat! She is housebroken (but still a puppy, so still needs frequent potty breaks in order to be successful!) Loves to play and has lots of curious, playful puppy spirit! Crate trained. LOVES other dogs! - Molly is very good with people and very loving. She does need continued work on jumping up, and coming when she’s called, but she’s very smart and should pick these things up quickly with some consistency! - Wants to play with kitties…so she either needs a no-cat household or one with cats that are dog-savvy. - Molly is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please head to www.pettalesrescue.com and fill out an application. View full description »

Baby, Male, Small

Pet overpopulation leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths each year.

We are involved in our communities to not only raise awareness but to be a resource and to help educate in a positive way.

The Pet Tales Journey

1. Rescue

When we’re contacted about an animal in need, we work quickly to determine the best course of action. If that course means coming into our rescue, we mobilize right away to secure the animal and place it safely within a foster home.

4. Sterilization

Spaying and neutering is something we feel very strongly about here at Pet Tales. EVERY animal we take in is fixed (sterilized) prior to finding their new home. We work hard to educate our community about the benefits of neutering their pet, and we believe this type of education is key to reducing pet overpopulation and overall shelter numbers.

2. Foster

Once we’ve successfully placed the pet within a foster home, the road to adoption begins! Their new foster will make sure they’re comfortable, clean, and given ample decompression time. From there, the foster will evaluate their personality and assess their specific needs.

5. Find a Home

The best part of all! Once our foster pets are ready mentally and medically, we begin the process of finding them the perfect forever-home. This begins with potential adopters filling out our online application. Once we have screened the applicant and determined whether their lifestyle seems like a good fit for the desired animal, we set up a meet and greet. If the meetup is successful and both parties are in agreement about adopting the pet, we finalize the adoption!

3. Screening & Treatment

We waste no time having new foster animals seen by a veterinarian! They are thoroughly checked over, tested for various ailments (such as parasites or heartworm), and vaccinated appropriately.

6. Follow Up Support

When you adopt a pet from us, you are NEVER alone! Our ultimate goal is to unite our fosters with their perfect family, and for them to spend a lifetime together. To ensure this goal is met, we will provide continuous support and advice whenever needed, for the life of your pet.

Happy Tales

“This is my little girl Vera. I adopted her from Pet Tales in April 2019. She had the same rough start that Luna had. Pet Tales took great care of her. She had many teeth removed and also one eye. She is spoiled rotten and I love her so much.”

– Pat Clark-Saur

“This is Rozie. We rescued her 5 years ago from Pet Tales. She is the sweetest dog we have ever had. At 1 year old she became part of a pet therapy group called Pet A Pet. We primarily go to Beaumont Hospital – Taylor, MI. She loves visiting the patients. We have been so blessed to have this sweet girl as part of our family. Thank you to Pet Tales for all of the hard work you put into rescuing these animals.”

– Jenny King Baugh

“Our Sweet Peanut….adopted this past summer (2020). An amazingly sweet girl, who loves any and all attention. She has completed our little family more than we could have ever hoped! Thank you so much, Pet Tales for our sweet girl”

– Kevin & Becky Thompson

Pet Tales Rescue was established in 2010…

By people who had spent several years volunteering with other rescues. They decided to take their many years of knowledge and experience out on their own to help find homes for abused and abandoned pets. We are committed to finding loving, permanent homes that will provide the love, companionship, and quality care that every animal deserves.
